The perfect pair – yoga nidra and meditation.
One practice drops you down into a deep, peaceful place (yoga nidra).
The other helps you stay there (meditation).
Yoga nidra is a guided meditation that systematically leads you into a deep state of relaxation through breath awareness, body scanning and imagery. This state ‘turns on’ the relaxation response, which is the body’s natural healing state. There is nothing for you to do, but to get comfortable and listen.
In meditation, you practice focusing the mind in a particular way to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.
The session starts with gentle movement then transitions into yoga nidra, which is practiced lying down or sitting comfortably (30-45 minutes). From there participants move into seated meditation posture (on a cushion or chair) for a partially guided meditation lasting approximately 20 minutes.
