A five-week course on deepening your meditation practice.
Prerequisite – First Steps: Beginning Meditation
In this course we’ll take a closer look at your meditation practice and also examine your daily habits through the mindful lens. The course will:
- – help you get more comfortable with longer meditations
- – offer methods for dealing with the difficulties that arise
- – further develop your skills for mindful living – communication, embodied movement and mindful eating, etc.
This class builds on the foundational practices introduced in First Steps including, breath-centered meditation, grounding your awareness in your body, mindful movement, mindful communication and lovingkindness practice.

Facilitated by Michelle Stortz
Michelle Stortz, C-IAYT, ERYT, MFA, practices mindfulness meditation in the Theravadan Buddhist tradition and has trained in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction curriculum. She is a certified yoga therapist specializing in yoga for cancer and chronic illness and teaches in numerous medical settings throughout the Philadelphia area.
